Kawartha Bowl for Kids Sake 2015 -- March 28th!

Mark your calendars for Saturday March 28th, the date of our 2015 Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser at Prost Bowling. Our agency's largest fundraiser, Bowl for Kids Sake, represents 20 per cent of our annual budget. Form a team of 5 to 6 bowlers, raise pledges, and come on out to bowl. Sponsor a session, donate a prize package, or single prize.

Charity Christmas Wrap Runs Until December 23

Come on out to the Charity Christmas Wrap at the Cataraqui Town Centre. Meet our many volunteers and get some presents wrapped to help fund our mentoring programs. We are located next to West 49 on the top floor. Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on fundraising to provide mentoring programs to youth from ages 6 to 18 in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. Charity Christmas Wrap To Launch December 1st
Big Brothers Big Sisters KFL&A  annual Christmas Charity Wrap fundraising event begins Dec. 1 at the Cataraqui Town Centre. Help fund our programs by getting your presents wrapped at the Charity Wrap booth located on the top floor near Sears (as of Dec. 1) or join our volunteer wrappers (call Anne 613 544-1621). Big Brothers Big Sisters receives all the proceeds from this program on the days of Dec 1, 3, 5, 9, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23.

Meeting the PM

Big Brothers and Big Sisters means BIG opportunities. Littles met on Parliament Hill this week at the Big Brothers Big Sisters sponsored Youth in Office event. 

Two of our Kingston mentees attended this event, meeting with various MPs and parliamentary staff.

One Board Member Position Opening

Welcome to our newest board member - Treasurer, Elizabeth Agostino. Thanks so much to departing treasurer, Martin Galczynski, for his much appreciated contribution to our board and organization. 8th Annual Kingston Amazing Challenge Update

Our 8th Annual Amazing Challenge was a great success! We wanted to thank all the teams that came out and ran the race and raise funds for our mentoring programs! Thanks to you we are able to match that many more at-risk youth in our local community in our mentoring programs!

This event wouldn't have happened without the help and support of our awesome volunteers!

A few weeks ago four of our Bigs received a provincial government community award for volunteering- Ontario Voluntary Service Award for service to our agency!

We would like to thank Frank, Justin, Tina & Dan once again for their dedication to their Littles- they have truly made a difference! And we would like to thank all our volunteers for their time and support in our Littles and Families. We could not do it without you!

We were so happy and excited to kick off this week's volunteer appreciation celebrations by attending United Ways KFL&A Volunteer Award ceremony on Monday night at the Memorial Hall. 

One of our Families, the Cormier Family and one of our biggest supporters Corus Entertainment/ Jef Johnston (one of our Board members) were two of the recipients for the ‘Volunteers Grow Community’ awards!

On Monday, April 28, 2014 Big Brothers Big Sisters KFL&A celebrated their 45th Annual General Meeting.  We recognized volunteers, Community Partners and Supporters with a number of awards.  The support from the community is overwhelming and we thank all how believe in empowering children to realize their full potential & build their future. For more information click here, Annual Report
