Game OnGo Girls Title

 

With the financial support from the George Weston Foundation, the Cataraqui Kingston Rotary Club, the City of Kingston and in-kind support from the Forzani Group, (Sportchek) the "Go Girls" program, and the new Boys, "Game On" Program will continue to run in 2011-2012

Go Girls - a group mentoring program targeted to girls 12-14.  The program offers information and support to assist girls in making informed choices about healthy, active living, healthy eating choices, self-image and relationships during a particularly challenging stage of development.

Game ON - a group mentoring program targeted to boys 10-12, 13-14.  The program is designed to explore healthy eating, self-esteem, life skills, emotional health and communication skills in  a positively supported group atmosphere.  The program provides support during the challenging pressures boys face in society today.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is currently looking for 6 male mentors who are interested in running this gender specific group mentoring program from April - June 2012.

The Go Girl program will not be accepting any new volunteers at this time, training for this program will be held the 3rd weekend of January, 2012.  The training is mandatory to volunter in the program

The program will run in a variety of public schools and community centres, for seven weeks, during the lunch hour, afterschool or in the early evening Volunteers are between the ages of 18-25.
